Our Youth!
Bright, talented and hungry to learn how to survive in a World that gives them no voice!
Welcome to Grow Baby, Grow!! Permaculture University!
Learning everything from the root to the shoot!   We are Urban, Organic Farmers.
Growing organic plants to turn into Value-Added Products, such as tomatoes, lettuce, onions, chilies, salt, herbs and spices.
We take them and make good, healthy products for ourselves, our families and our communities.

The Health disparities are very bad in our communities of South Los Angeles, Watts and Compton!
The food has changed, but we haven’t.  We continue to eat dead food, devoid of minerals, vitamins, and most importantly, ENZYMES.
Enzymes are fleeting and you have to eat straight out of a garden to get optimal enzymes, as they are depleted with time.
Enzymes give the body life, encouraging your cells to stay strong and not mutate.  They prevent cancer because they contain PHYTOCHEMICALS, healthy plant based chemicals that cure and heal, naturally!  These are found ONLY in fresh foods!

As the students learn how to make their signature creations, they are invited to showcase their wares at our new Blue Line Farmers’ Market, in the next weeks, as we head toward the holidays!
Some of their creations are cookies, brownies, sliced tropical fruit, spices, candles, organic soap, head wraps, neck ties, gloves, hats, ect.

In the coming months, as we farm in Compton, fresh produce will begin to appear!
Fresh onions, Garlic, Herbs, Fruits, and Vegetables of all kinds. These youth have the opportunity to teach the State of California, how they can give back and stand as good examples to their peers of what it takes to be a success, right here at home!

Many children lack confidence in the beginning at Grow Baby, Grow, but they usually warm up when they try the organic products and taste them.  They try and fail at research and development of their new products, but with patience they get it right!
Students learn about food safety, packaging, labeling, sealing, marketing and distribution – both domestic and internationally!

The Cottage Industry Act AB 1616 has opened the door for our youth to excel in the field of becoming a successful business person and help them stay on track!  Soon each will join the Compton Business Chamber of Commerce, as Junior Members.
Mr. Jeff Lillie, Market Director and myself are creating the UrbanLinc Village Market Place where we showcase these talented youth every week.

Come show your support for your children every Wednesday 3 to 7pm at our New Blue Line Station Farmers’ Market in Compton!

Together, We Rise!

URBAN FOUNDERS INSTITUTE

The Urban Founders Institute is an early-stage start-up accelerator and global launch network that helps entrepreneurs create meaningful and enduring technology companies. Through a part-time four month program, existing and prospective founders can launch their dream company with expert training, feedback, and support from experienced start-up CEOs – while not being required to quit their day job. Our unique Graduate Liquidity Pool also enables graduates and mentors to share in the equity upside of each class, creating local, teamwork-based ecosystems where great new businesses can flourish.

GREENER EARTH, A CLEANER EARTH

Greener Earth, A Cleaner Earth’s{GECE} mission is to feed the nation one block at a time by bridging Urban communities through the promotion/creation of neighborhood farming and beautification projects.

GEGC trains the youth and local residents in various types of gardening from the latest cutting edge technologies to the oldest tried and true traditions. By partnering with Urban communities and their local schools we are planning green alleyway projects where abandoned alleyways are cleaned up and transformed into productive useable green areas where residents and students can work together and create future self-sustained Urban Farmers Markets.

THE MSE NETWORK

The MSE Network ‘s mission is to create more opportunities for minorities in sports and entertainment through leveraging the power of a cooperative economic incubation system.

URBAN MICRO SOCIETY

A Leadership and Citizenship Development Program Grades K-5: “Teaching” citizenship doesn’t work. Living it does. This program not only addresses school climate needs and builds student leaders; it transports the traditional student council into the 21st century through interdisciplinary exploration of the connections between school and community, and between national and global concerns. Students create a real student government complete with a court and enforcement branch. They launch task forces to examine issues and solve problems in their schools and communities and become citizen activists through their service activities. Self-governance in this real world context dramatically improves behavior, reduces violence, and creates a climate of shared independence and responsibility.

ExCONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION

The ExConomic Development Corporation{ECNDC} is a business incubator that offers viable tools, training, and resources for ExConvicts who choose to start their own businesses. ECNDC’s base program is structured similarly to our Urban Founders Institute, however the ECNDC program is open to businesses in all industries and also tackles the specific challenges that ExConvicts face when navigating their way in the real world.

THE URBANLINC FOUNDATION
The UrbanLinc Foundation will create venture capital funds; microfinance funds for family and community based businesses—with a particular focus on women’s businesses; provide funding for strategically aligned community organizations; create an Urban Leaderpreneurs Association; and develop an Urban Leaderpreneur Certification model.
